The Life of A Mok
The life of a mok means someone who was born and raised in Los Angeles California. I grew up with my brother and sister. My parents are from the Central American country Belize. Growing up I was never really a social person. I had a difficult time making friends and conversating with people. I struggled the most in middle school, as my grades and social skills were lacking and I didn't know what I wanted to do as I got older. After I graduated from middle school, I didn't know that my time in high school would be described as a rollercoaster.

The COVID-19 pandemic cut off freshmen and sophomore year. This added to my lack of social skills but exponentially increased my grades and work ethic. Going to classes on Zoom I wasn't able to get the same learning experience and face-to-face interaction. I went to sleep late almost every day but became more proficient with technology and computers. When I returned to campus back as a Junior, I didn't know what I wanted to do when I am older but I knew that I had to finish strong in high school. I took up Advance placement courses and challenged myself academically to be a strong candidate for college. The summer of my Junior year changed my entire life. I got into a program called the EST College Application program which helped me understand the college application process. Another momentous change that occurred during that summer year was going to Washington D.C. Being able to travel somewhere else new expanded my horizons, got me out my comfort zone, and allowed me to make life-long connections.

As my time here at Verb concludes, I am grateful I was able to take away a lot and become my true self. I developed a profound passion for Business and Finance over my time here at Verb. Now, I am committed to Santa Clara University and will be majoring in Finance at the Leavey School of Business. My ultimate goal in life is not by how much I will make, but rather how much I can impact the world and be a resource to those who were just like me

.The symbol I chose was a picture of my and my college mascot. I chose the picture because it represents the time I will spend at Santa Clara University for the next four years.
